It seems apropos to the current situation on the St. As empty as the St. But even old-timers have trouble recalling a season with the acres of mullet schooling up now. But the Lord and the St. Johns River are a lot alike, too, in that they both work in mysterious ways. The shrimp run would be kicking off a hot black bass bite right now. But the mullet run is cool in itself — and attracting its own piscatorial pugilists.
